Deep tissue and remedial massage
Slow, focused pressure for the knots that do not let go on their own, whether they came from a long trail day or a long week at the desk.
What it isreally like
Deep tissue at Solace Sands is firm but never rushed. Your therapist starts with a short movement check, asking you to turn your head, reach overhead and hinge at the hips, so they can see where you are guarded before they begin. From there the session works layer by layer, warming the surface muscles before sinking into the deeper ones with forearms, thumbs and slow sustained pressure.
Remedial sessions go a step further for guests with a specific complaint: a shoulder that pinches, a lower back that seizes after driving, or hamstrings that have not forgiven you for Bear Mountain. We combine trigger point work, assisted stretching and gentle joint mobilization, then finish by teaching you two or three stretches you can do at the trailhead or beside your desk.

Questionsabout this
Anything we have not covered, our front desk will answer on (928) 555-0193 from 8 am daily.

It should feel strong and productive, never sharp. We use a simple zero to ten scale and aim to stay around a six or seven. Tell us at any point and we will ease off.
Some guests feel mild tenderness for a day, a bit like after a good workout. Drink water, soak in warm water that evening and do the stretches we show you.
We can often help with muscle tension around an old injury. For recent injuries, surgery or ongoing pain, please check with your doctor first and let us know when you book.
After is best. Deep work the day before a big climb can leave legs feeling heavy. Book the evening you come off the trail or the morning after.
