Hot stone ritual
Smooth basalt stones, warmed in water and glided along the back, legs and shoulders, melt tension in a way hands alone cannot.
What it isreally like
Our signature ritual uses smooth river basalt, heated to around 125 degrees in a dedicated stone warmer and tested against your therapist's own forearm before it ever touches you. The stones are used as an extension of the hand, sweeping along the back and legs, then rested along the spine, in the palms and between the toes while your therapist works elsewhere.
Heat lets the muscles soften quickly, so the massage can feel deep without heavy pressure. Near the end we bring in a few cool marble stones for the face and eyes, a small contrast that feels wonderful after a warm afternoon in Sedona. The ritual closes with a slow scalp massage and a few quiet minutes under a warm blanket.

They should feel comfortably warm, never hot. Your therapist checks each stone on their own skin and then on yours, and a towel goes between stone and skin wherever you prefer.
Not quite. We do not offer hot stones during pregnancy, and we ask guests with diabetes, circulation conditions, recent sunburn or very sensitive skin to talk with us before booking.
Yes. Choose the hot stone and deep tissue session, or simply ask for more pressure. The warmth usually means you need less force to feel the same release.
Many guests love it year round. The treatment rooms are cool, and the cold marble stones at the end balance the heat nicely.
